What might have resulted in a serious accident took place at about 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon when a Stanley Steamer driven by a man from out of town lost its rear left wheel. The wheel was snapped off clean while the car bounded along the pavements for some distance before it came to a stop. Luckily the driver and a passenger kept their seats and the only damage was the loss of the wheel while the gear box and gears were somewhat twisted up.
