AUBURN — Paul N. Gagnon, 73, of 195 Cook St., Auburn, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 24, at his home. Paul was recovering at home due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident 6 weeks prior.

He was born in Lewiston, Feb. 28, 1939, the son of the late Alcide J. and Imelda (Frechette) Gagnon. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Saint Dom’s, Class of 1957. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. Paul owned and operated Alcide J. Gagnon Decorating Service, a company that was founded by his father, Alcide Gagnon until he retired in 2006.

Paul married his beloved wife, Sally M. Foss, Oct. 22, 1966. Paul loved his job as a residential and commercial painting contractor and established many wonderful friendships through his working career.

One of his favorite pastimes was following the Boston Bruins and enjoying breakfast out each morning with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his dearest friend, Norm McKeone and delivering flowers with him each Friday from Ann’s Flower Shop.

Paul’s favorite activity was spending time with his granddaughters each morning and bringing them to school. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Sally of Auburn; a daughter, Kim Roth and her companion, David Trask and his daughter, Abigail Trask of Auburn; his two granddaughters, Emily and Olivia Roth of Auburn; a brother, Roland Gagnon of Lewiston; and his aunt, Cecile Poulin of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his sister, Rita Thibodeau.
