The Paris Public Library Children’s Room is holding its annual Adopt-a-Children’s Book fundraiser until Jan. 2. Staff have selected 38 classic children’s books they wish to add or replace in the library’s collection, decorating a Christmas tree with note cards of the various books’ covers and costs. Donors select the note cards of the books they are interested in contributing to the library’s collection, completing the cards’ information if they wish to give the books in honor or in memory of others. Each gift to the library is commemorated on a bookplate placed in the donated book. Certificates attesting to the donations are available for giving to honorees as presents. The prices of the books vary from $2 to $6. Last year, 43 books were adopted. For more information, call the library at 743-6994, or email [email protected]. Children’s Librarian Michaela Batstone is shown decorating the Book Tree.
