LMS season under way

LEWISTON — Lewiston Middle School season is under way. Lewiston Blue Demons Hockey teams compete in the Southern Maine Middle School Hockey League against middle school teams from Yarmouth, Biddeford, Brunswick, Falmouth, Greely, Auburn and St Dom’s Academy. The SMMSHL is structured as a high school preparatory league. Lewiston Middle School has 4 teams totaling 68 players competing within SMMSHL, three co-ed and one girls only team.

This weekend, Sunday, Dec. 2, the LMS Demons have two games at the Colisee. Demons Ingals division team plays at 3:40 p.m. vs. Falmouth, immediately followed by the Demons Braun division team at 4:50 p.m. vs. Brunswick. Admission is free.

Renegades earn two ties

HAVERHILL, Mass. — The Maine Renegades AAA Peewee team tied both of their Valley League games this past weekend in Haverhill, MA.  The first game of the day was a hard fought 4-4 draw with the NH Avalanche.  The Rens couldn’t hold the lead late in the game when their opponent picked up the pace.  Chandler Bilodeau led the way with a pair of goals and an assist.  Cameron Niven and Brandon Michaud also found the back of the net.  Game 2 of the day was a 0-0 tie against Needham, Mass.  Neither team could capitalize on their opportunities.  Luca Colinet and Jacob Smith combined for the shutout.
