GOLDSBORO, N.C. — James Elwin Whittemore Jr., 67, formerly of Livermore Falls and Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Willow Creek Nursing Home.

He is the son of the late James E. and Marion (Brown) Whittemore. James had attended Livermore Falls High School. On Dec. 8, 1973, in Livermore Falls, he married Ann Pelletier of Auburn. She passed away, May 19, 1987.

Even though being disabled, James was up to date on current events and politics. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and Red Sox fan. He enjoyed life to the fullest that he could.

He is survived by his sisters, Joyce Wyatt and her husband, Carl, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Esther Wooten and her husband, Dan, of Pikeville, N.C.; his mother-in-law, June Pelletier of Lewiston; two aunts, Emily Pike and Martha Hines, both of Canton; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
