FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Regional School District Music Department has announced the December concert schedule for the schools.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
The series will kick off Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Cascade Brook School at the Mt. Blue Middle School gym in Farmington and will feature the beginner band, sixth-grade band, fifth-grade chorus, sixth-grade chorus and the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade orchestras. These ensembles are under the direction of Karen Beacham, Nancy Beacham and Mark Phillips.
The Cape Cod Hill School concert will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, at the school in New Sharon. Featured will be the beginner band, sixth-grade band, fifth-grade chorus, sixth-grade chorus and the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade orchestras, under the direction of Karen Beacham, Nancy Beacham and Lindsay Burke. Patricia Hayden will serve as concert accompanist.
The Academy Hill School concert is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Academy Hill School in Wilton. The beginner band, sixth-grade band, fifth-grade chorus, sixth-grade chorus and the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade orchestras will be directed by Lindsay Burke, Darryl Pike and Steven Muise. Patricia Hayden will serve as concert accompanist.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Mt. Blue Middle School students will present their concert under the direction of Lindsay Burke, Darryl Pike and Steven Muise at the middle school in Farmington. Featured ensembles will be the Mt. Blue Middle School band, chorus and orchestra. Sam Sytsma will serve as accompanist for the chorus.
The final concert will be presented by the Mt. Blue High School Music Department on Thursday, Dec. 13, in the high school gym. Performing that evening will be the high school band, chorus and orchestra under the direction of Karen Beacham, Steven Muise and Carol Shumway. Patricia Hayden will serve as concert accompanist.
In the event a concert is canceled due to inclement weather, it will be rescheduled either Wednesday, Dec, 19, or Thursday Dec. 20.
