LEWISTON — Jean Mary Sotman, 95, of Rumford, died Nov. 25, with her family at her side.
She was born in Rumford, April 12, 1917, to the late Clement and Marie Leblanc Loisel. She graduated from Stephens High School, Class of 1936.
On Nov. 16, 1936, she married Stanley J. Sotman, who died March 2, 2010. She was a homemaker all her life and lived all her life in Rumford, where she raised three children.
Jean was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John’s Church. She was a 60 year member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed bowling, bridge, and spending time at the family camp at Roxbury Pond.
She is survived by her son, John and his wife, Carol, of Norway; two daughters, Janice MacDonald of Shirley, Mass., and Ann DeSalle of Rumford; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Stanley; three
brothers, Maurice, Ernest and Leo; and six sisters, Lillian Gallant, Lydia Henry, Betty McKeil, Cecile Elloian, Olive Deane and Irene Bulger.
