LEWISTON — The Timothy J. Mynahan Foundation has announced that the TJM Scholarship recipient for 2012 is MacKenzie Sullivan, a 2012 graduate of Lewiston High School.

Criteria for selection of the $2,500 scholarship are based on academic and athletic excellence and commendable leadership ability.

Sullivan is a four-sport varsity athlete, participating in soccer, basketball, softball and lacrosse. As captain of both the soccer and basketball teams she excelled and demonstrated leadership in her chosen sports.

Coupled with her athletic and leadership attributes, she also achieved academic excellence throughout her high school years. She was a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of numerous prestigious awards. Distinguishing herself through commitment to success, both academically and athletically, she has established remarkable “leadership by example.”

MacKenzie has also displayed a “sense of community” as demonstrated by her involvement in community-based youth programs.

She is furthering her education at the University of Maine.
