BANGOR — Willard E. Wing Jr., 67, of Oakland, died Monday, Nov. 26, at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Portland, Sept. 6, 1945, the son of Willard and Rhoda (Grindle) Wing. Willard was educated in Dixfield schools and lived most of his life in Dixfield. Moving to Oakland in 2004.

Willard was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the Dixfield American Legion for more than 28 years, transferring his membership to the Decker-Simmons Post American Legion in Oakland.

Willard was employed many years by Diamond International, retiring due to a work injury. He later worked a short time as a road flagger for construction.

He was a member of the Rumford Eagles Club. Willard enjoyed playing cribbage and participating in cribbage tournaments. He was an avid collector of coins and baseball cards. He also loved fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of Oakland; two daughters, Karyn Wing of Oakland and Paula Barring of Burlington, Vt.; two sisters, Ethelyn Phillips of Northfield, N.H., and Carol Tainer of Canton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Kristina, Christopher, Kevin, Kimberly, Kathrine, Destany, Skylee and Drew; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Willard was predeceased by a sister; and two grandchildren.
