LITCHFIELD — Moses E. Flaherty Sr., 74, a resident of Flaherty Lane, Litchfield, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 30, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a long illness.
He was born May 15, 1938, in Litchfield, the son of Michael and Emma (Ridley) Flaherty. He attended school in Litchfield.
On Oct. 30, 1961 in Monmouth, he married his wife of 51 years, Wanita Michaud. He worked construction throughout the years for S.E. McMillen in Bangor and retired in 1995. He attended the South Monmouth Baptist Church. Moses enjoyed gardening and his backhoe, but he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Wanita Flaherty; sons, Jeff Flaherty and his companion, Judy, Moses “Moe” Flaherty Jr. and his wife, Diana, Willard “Bill” Flaherty and his companion, Maggie Rose and Peter Flaherty and his wife, Kerry, all of Litchfield; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ernest Flaherty and his wife, Sharon and Herbert Flaherty, all of Monmouth.
He was predeceased by his brother, Everett Flaherty; and his sister, Marie Flaherty.
