RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens have a Portland shopping trip scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. from the center. The cost of the bus trip is $7.50.
The center will be having their annual Christmas party at the American Legion on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is for members only and there is a fee of $10 for participation.
A pancake breakfast is being planned for Jan. 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost will be $4.
A trip to the show “The Hound of the Baskervilles” is being planned for Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. This popular Sherlock Holmes story becomes pure comic bliss in this side-splitting spoof.
A St. Valentine’s Day Social is being planned for Feb. 14. More information will be forthcoming.
A trip to Montreal and Quebec City is being offered from May 20-24. The cost is $565 per person double-occupancy. A passport is required for this tour. The bus will leave from the Rumford Senior Center. For more information call Anna Shaw at 364-3164 or the Rumford Senior Center at 364-4700.
The group’s annual Christmas Craft Fair was a success due to the work and contributions of volunteers.
There will be no board or membership meeting for the month of December.
The group is polling its membership and area citizens to see if there is enough interest in trips to Bangor Slots and Oxford Slots. Call the center if you are interested.
Nickel beano is scheduled for every Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Volunteers are needed for a couple hours a month to help with running the games.
The Senior Center is still selling RADA cutlery. A selection of fine cutlery is on site, plus sets are available for order for that special wedding, shower, Christmas present, etc. Other items available for order from the catalogue are cookbooks, stoneware, soy wax candles, dip, sauce and soup mixes as well as no-bake cheesecakes. Catalogues are available at the center.
