NORWAY — John “Jack” S. Bray, 90, of Norway died Sunday, Dec. 2, at Stephens Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., Dec. 7, 1921, the son of Harvey and Mary Simms Bray. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Alaska.
He was a cabinet maker, he owned and operated Bray Woodworking in Beverly, Mass., for many years before moving to Maine. After retirement, he worked at Longley’s Hardware in Norway for 13 years.
He is survived by his soulmate, Jean; his precious girls, Merle (John) Hoover, Stephanie (Scott) Worthing and Darcie (Joe) Childs; his son, Scott Bray; a sister, Ethel Farmer; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister; and two brothers.
