Kicking off concert series
Soulful singer-songwriter John Newson will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the United In Christ Presbyterian Church on Locke Hill Road in Starks. There will be a community supper and Christmas cookie swap at 6 pm. Donations will be collected, benefiting the United in Christ Youth Group’s mission trip fund. Side dishes for the supper and cookies (with recipes) are optional. This holiday event kicks off a monthly Community Concert Series that will also feature New Age folk duo Arborea; Okbari, Armenian folk; The Burnt Beard Band, bluegrass; and Village Harmony.
