AUBURN — Peter C.J. Masse, 73, of Weymouth Street, Brunswick, died Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Hospice House.

He was born in Brunswick, Sept. 9, 1939, the son of Felix and Claire Caron Masse. Peter attended St. John’s Parochial school and was a 1958 graduate of Brunswick High School. Peter served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Peter served as a radioman during Vietnam flying over 100 missions over Vietnam. After the war he served as a dental technician, until retiring from the Air Force in 1975.

After retiring from the Air Force, Peter lived in San Antonio, where he worked as a manager for a local liquor store for several years, until moving back to Brunswick. When he returned to Brunswick he worked as a painter with his brother in-law, Ronald Favreau for many years and continued painting after his brother in-law’s death until retiring.

Peter was a man of strong Catholic faith and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, where he also sang in the choir. He was also a member of Oratorio Chorale. Peter was also a member of the America Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War.

Surviving is his sister, Theresa Favreau Michaud and her husband, Russell of Brunswick. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
