AUBURN — Carmen C. Rioux, 76, of Lewiston, died Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Auburn, July 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Roland and Adrienne (St. Hilaire) Langlois. She was educated in local schools. Carmen married the love of her life, Leo R. Rioux, Aug. 10, 1957. He predeceased her on Oct. 18, 2002.

Carmen was a stay-at-home mom and loved every minute of it. She later she worked for St. Mary’s Hospital as a dietary aide. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Crazy Eight’s (a longtime group of eight woman that became very close and would meet every Wednesday to play cards). She loved to winter in Hollywood Beach, Fla., with her husband. She enjoyed her flowers, feeding her hummingbirds and hosting many lobster feeds for her family. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with each of them.

She leaves her two sons, Michael Rioux and his companion, Shirley Wabeke, of Florida, and David Rioux of Greene and his companion, Nancy Burben, of Lisbon Falls; two daughters, Lisa Daniels and her husband, John, of Sabattus and Mona Robitaille and her husband, Michael, of Wales; a sister, Anita Fournier and her husband, Gerard, of Auburn; a brother, Robert Langlois of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Shawn Rioux and wife, Stephanie, of Maryland, Sarah Rioux and companion, Joseph Malvezzi, of Massachusetts, Thomas Rioux of Gardiner, Eric Daniels and fiancee, Allie Anctil, of New York, Scott Daniels of Massachusetts, Brian Daniels of Sabattus and William and Wyatt Robitaille of Wales; and a special friend, Eugene Langlais of Sabattus.
