LEWISTON — Ronald Cox, 76, a resident of Wilton, died Monday, Dec. 3, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, after multiple health issues. He is now with Grace.

He was born Dec. 13, 1935, in East Livermore, the son of Edson and Hazel (Dyar) Cox, the youngest of six children. He attended school in East Livermore, but really all he wanted to do was to be outside hunting, fishing and wandering around on Jug Hill.

In 1958, he married Grace (Demont) Kyes and became dad to her two children. They made their home in Livermore Falls and had one child together. Ron worked in the woods, was employed at the local woolen mills and Livermore Falls Shoe, retiring from Cole Haan shoe.

After retirement, he worked part time at the town office in Livermore Falls cleaning and maintenance. He always worked very hard and passed down his work ethic to his children.

In his spare time, he liked to have a vegetable garden and he and Grace also liked going fishing. As his health failed, he still loved the outdoors and would spend lots of time on the porch with his dog, Molly, or watching TV with the love of his life, Grace.

He is survived by daughters, Carolee Simeoni and her husband, Barry, of Alfred, June Watson and her husband, Dwight, of Livermore Falls and Heidi Greenleaf and her husband, Mike, of Wilton; sisters, Mayvella Lee and her husband, Cecil, of Fairfield and Fleta Schmidt of Eustis; his granddaughter, Jennifer Dewitt of Jay; great-granddaughters, Hannah, Emma and Ivy Enoch; and many nieces and nephews.
