LEWISTON — Walter B. Henry (Kevin J. Bamford), 59, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Dec. 3.

He was born in Boston, a son of John A. and Mary Ann (Wormwood) Bamford of Bowdoinham. He graduated from Morse High School as a member of the class of 1972.

Walter held various jobs and spent a good amount of time working for Bath Iron Works. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.

Walter was a member of the Lewiston Chapter of AA, but traveled to other areas of Maine to listen and speak with others. He also spoke to several high schools over the years about the pitfalls of addiction. He was a very social and personable gentleman, who enjoyed fishing on Cobbossee Lake in Gardiner and was an avid motorcyclist in his younger days.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his two children, John K. Bamford and his wife, Pam, of Bowdoin and Catina Reed of Lewistown, Pa.; he also leaves three grandchildren, Leala, Nicholas and Hunter; two sisters, Adriana B. Bellerose and her husband, Joseph, of Troy and Gail Lincoln and her husband, Matthew, of Unity; a brother, James J. Bamford of Bowdoinham; a brother-in-law, Mark McCarn of Sanford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Shelly McCarn who passed on Aug. 2.

Walter had three special individuals who were important in his life in Lewiston, Mr. Paul Rancourt, Ms. Cathy Higginbotham and her son, Ben and Caroline.
