PORTLAND —  Branden Dyer and Brendon Pelletier each scored two goals and Zach Gosselin made six saves Saturday in Edward Little’s 7-0 Class A boys’ hockey shutout of South Portland.

Liam Benson, Adam Lebrun and Trevor Haley also lit the lamp for the Red Eddies in their season opener. Pelletier, Cade Chapman and Sedrick Simons each notched two assists.

Kelsey Morton made 51 saves for the Red Riots.

Poland/GNG 6, Windham/Sacopee 0

GORHAM — Ethan Cailler and Nevin Rand each had two goals and twoi assists Saturday, propelling Poland/Gray-New Gloucester to a 6-0 Class A hockey win over Windham/Sacopee Valley.

Lucas Nickerson added a goal and three assists for the Patriotic Knights. Isaiah Dubois picked up the other goal. Calvin Shelley stopped all 14 shots in net.

Boys’ Basketball

St. Dom’s 60, Madison 44

AUBURN — Eric Ulin led four St. Dom’s scorers in double figures with 16 points Saturday, steering the Saints to a 60-44 MVC boys’ basketball win over Madison.

Madison Jalbert and Mike Bryant each added 12 points and Zak Johnson 11 for St. Dom’s, which opened a 31-20 lead at the half.

Kaleb Staples paced the Bulldogs with 13 points. M.J. Flanders chipped in 12.

Madison 56, St. Dom’s 45

AUBURN — Sam Bruce notched 13 points and five assists Saturday, boosting Madison to a 56-45 MVC girls’ basketball win over St. Dom’s.

Alex Jarvais added 10 points and 11 assists for the Bulldogs, who led 21-16 at the end of the first quarter and pulled away from the pesky Saints with a 12-8 advantage in the third. Bronte Elias chipped in 10 points.

Kelly Pomerleau scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Saints. Callie Greco contributed 10.

Kents Hill 54, Hebron 18

HEBRON — Sarah Grenier poured in 21 points to push Kents Hill past Hebron, 54-18, in Saturday girls’ basketball.

Ashley Doyle delivered 14 points and Emma Cuinin 12 for the Huskies. Liv Brown led the Lumberjacks with 13.

Girls’ Hockey

Southfield 3, Hebron 0

BROOKLINE, Mass. — Michaela Clark made 66 saves Saturday in Hebron’s 3-0 girls’ hockey loss to Southfield.

Ali Quinn had the hat trick for Southfield, with two assists from Jenny Pollard.
