LEWISTON — Joseph N. Roy, 74, of Rumford, died Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Central Maine Medical Center. He was a resident of South Rumford.

He was born in Rumford, May 3, 1938, a son of Lucien Albert and Mavis (Corkum) Roy. He attended Rumford schools. He was a member of the National Guard and served in the U.S. Army as a private first class. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Boise Cascade.

Joe was a member of Blazing Star Lodge 30 AF & AM, where he served as past master and was currently treasurer. He was High Priest of Royal Arch 56. He was a member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion and was a CHIPS Program Coordinator.

He was a stock car driver and was an avid fan; he enjoyed playing Beano and watching Western movies.

He was married in Mexico, Dec. 24, 1957 to Faye Williamson, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include two sons, N. Joseph and his wife, June, of Rumford and Jeffrey and his wife, Andrea, of Rumford; a daughter, Annette Marin and her companion, Dusty Cochran, of Carthage; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Staples of Rumford; and a brother, Ernest Roy and his wife, Joyce, of Peru.
