MARSHFIELD, Mass. — Florence F. Shackleton of Marshfield, Mass., and formerly of Lewiston and Poland Spring died at home on Dec. 11, at the age of 95.
Mrs. Shackleton served many years on the Board of Directors for the Lewiston-Auburn YWCA, including a term as president. She also served as director of the YWCA teen department and co-director of the Summer Day Camp Program at Camp Chittenden at Tripp Lake from 1962 to 1968. She lead both Brownie and Girl Scout troops locally in the 1950s.
Mrs. Shackleton was an active member of the Poland Community Church, where she once served as a deacon. After moving to Marshfield in 2004, she became an active member of her local church and enjoyed sharing activities with her many friends there and at the Marshfield Senior Center.
The beloved wife of the late Harold C. Shackleton, she is survived by her daughters, Holly Kerr and Lynne Ford, her granddaughter, Michelle Demand, and her two great-grandchildren, Michael and Elaina Demand, all of Marshfield; and her grandniece, Heidi Williams of Guilford, N.H.
