GILEAD — A Virginia woman got a rude reception when driving into Maine early Sunday evening from New Hampshire.
Susan Klekot, 31, of Fredericksburg, was driving east on Route 2 in Gilead at 7:08 p.m. when she lost control of her 2007 Jeep Liberty, Oxford County deputy sheriff Nathan Bowie stated in his report. The SUV left the road and struck the “Welcome to Maine” sign.
Klekot wasn’t injured, but her Jeep sustained an estimated $3,000 damage to the front, Bowie said. Gaudreau’s wrecker of Bethel towed it.
