Bridge Club championship

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship on Dec. 18 at the Lewiston Armory were as follows: first, Sherry Hinckley and Fred Letourneau; second, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; third, Paul Sherman and Mike True; fourth, Ellie and George Wigton.

No games will be played at the Lewiston Armory until Monday, Jan. 7, and Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 9 a.m. Partners are always guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information.

Food Pantry is open Dec. 28

OTISFIELD — The Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, Rayville Road. The pantry is open on the fourth Friday of every month. For more information, call 539-4619.

New Year’s Eve bingo planned

NORWAY — Ring in 2013 by playing bingo on New Year’s Eve at Stone Smart American Legion Post 82, 212 Main St. Bingo will be from 9 p.m. to midnight; doors will open at 7.

The kitchen will be open for burgers and sandwiches, party favors will be available for the stroke of midnight as well as sparkling cider to toast in the New Year.

Babysitting training in Jan.

NORWAY — Girl Scouts will offer a Babysitting 101 training program for all area girls in grades 5 and up.

The program will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Norway/Paris area. The cost is $6. There is an additional $12 membership fee for non-Girl Scouts. Membership assistance is available for the membership fee. Space is limited. Preregistration along with payment is necessary by Jan. 11.

The program will include getting a baby-sitting business started; playtime ideas for children of all ages; understanding the likes and dislikes of children; troubleshooting and solutions to common problems and babysitting 101 certification.
