Lewiston City Councilor Craig Saddlemire gets it — Casella can’t be trusted.

I hope many residents watched and listened carefully to the speakers at a recent workshop, who gave up their time to give the public all the information needed to understand Casella’s history and the probability of financial ramifications.

Not mentioned in the Sun Journal report was the numerous times Casella trucks deliberately ignored weight rules by huge amounts.

Who will monitor them? What will that cost the public in road damages? How did they manage to get the state to let them convert out-of-state waste to in-state waste some time ago?

When there are residents from Greene, Auburn and Thorndyke speaking out, people should listen to their concerns. The last time Casella issues came before the Council, many residents came out. The line of people wanting to speak against Casella was out the door.
