SOUTH PARIS — Marilyn E. Brown, 86, of Minot passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.
She was born April 20, 1926, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of William and Minnie Johnson Peck.
She married Joseph V. Brown Jr. on June 8, 1946.
She worked as secretary and partner at Brown & Sons, was secretary of High Street Congregational Church and was involved with Pathways and Garcelon School in Lewiston.
Marilyn loved the arts. She was an avid bridge player and a gourmet cook. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph V. Brown Jr.; sister, Helen Wynn; son, Joseph Brown and significant other, Kathy Dixon, of Otisfield; daughter, Sandra Piper and husband, Steven, of Minot; daughter, Susan Morin of Minot, and son, William Brown of Auburn; grandchildren Kelly Henry and husband, Chris, Daniel Brown and wife, Wendy, James Piper and wife, Kristin, Jason Piper and wife, Jill, Nicholas Piper and wife, Syrena, and Jennifer Piper and significant other, John Vickery; great-grandchildren, Ashley Hawkins, Amber Henderson, Daniel Millett, Ethan Brown, Austin Brown, Oliver Brown, Emily Piper, Callum Piper, Kali Dixon and Blaine Dixon; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane Dennis; brother, William Peck; and grandson, Shane Dixon.
