FALMOUTH — Mary L. Doucette, 81, of Lewiston, died Sunday, Dec. 23, at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth.
She was born July 29, 1931, in Old Town, youngest daughter of the late Alfred and Leontine (Madore) Morancy. She was educated in Old Town and graduated from Old Town High School.
Mary married the love of her life, Raymond T. Doucette, on May 29, 1954, in Old Town. They moved to Lewiston in 1960, where she raised her family. She was mostly a homemaker, having worked part-time at various places as a waitress when her children were in school.
Mary enjoyed playing cards.She was part of a group of eight very close friends called “The Crazy Eights.” They met every Wednesday night for years to play their weekly card games.
She is survived by three sons, Scott Doucette and wife, Wanda, of Lewiston, Michael Doucette and wife, Sandra, of Brunswick and Roger Doucette and wife, Antonella, of Harvard, Mass.; two daughters, Jill Plourde and husband, David, of Lewiston, and Ann Berry and husband, Boyd, of Whitefield; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, on Aug. 1, 1999, and three sisters, Yvonne Morrissette, Jean Ewing and Anita St. Marie.
