I am a single mother of two girls and I recieved some help for Christmas through the Salvation Army this year and I really wanted to thank whoever provided that help and to all the other people who take time and effort to help out families in need around the holidays.

I know I can’t meet them personally, but I’d like them to know that when my youngest opened up her gifts she was full of smiles and was all about checking them out and playing with them all. She also loved her new outfit.

It’s things like this assistance program that prove there are still good people out there willing to help give a child or family they’ve never met a nice Christmas.

I know an article was published recently about how all of the cards for kids’ gifts at the Auburn Mall hadn’t been selected and, then, in a matter of a couple days all of the cards were taken. I know things are tight for a lot of people so that makes it even more special knowing they still find the little bit of extra money to put a smile on a child’s face, including my child.

So, I say thank you to all the Christmas angels who helped put smiles on my kids’ faces. I wish them all a happy holiday and happy New year.
