AUBURN — Jeannette Rita (Roberge) Potvin , 90, of Auburn, died peacefully at her daughter’s home, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, Dec. 25, following a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 22, 1922, the daughter of George and Marie Rose (Angers) Roberge. She was educated in local schools. Jeannette married Andre S. Potvin on May 14, 1949, and he predeceased her on Nov. 11, 2000. Together they raised four daughters in Auburn.

Together they owned and operated Jake and Andy’s Donut Shop in Auburn for 28 years. She also worked at Bolster Heights Nursing Home, Curran’s Beansprouts and Fancy Stitchers. She enjoyed most of all spending time with her family, playing beano, canning and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.

She leaves behind her daughters, Suzanne Richard, Doris Marchessault and Linda Brackett and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Andrew Richard and wife, Amanda, Scott Richard and wife, Tina, Jeremy Marchessault and wife, Crystal, Jessica Morrissette and fiance, Brad and Shawn and Andrea Brackett; five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Therese Roberge and Pauline Morin; brother-in-law, Fernand Potvin and wife, Yvette; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Rachel; two brothers, Henry and Roland; and three sisters, Yvette, Muriel and Rachel.

She will be greatly missed by all. Special thanks to the nurses and aides from St. Mary’s Hospital and Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice.
