BETHEL – Artistic Endeavors Frame Shop and Gallery will host an open house for Woodstock painter Judy Huber from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 4.

According to Artistic Endeavors’ website, Huber has painted watercolors for many years and is “driven by the inspiration of nature.”

“Our gallery was introduced to Judy a few months back,” owner Norman Milliard said. “We sent out feelers to people who knew her to see if she would like to be featured in one of our open houses.”

According to Milliard, his gallery tries to showcase local artists every month.

“We’re in an area of talented people,” he said. “Up until now, we approach artists who we’re familiar with. We’ll see if they’re interested, and if it seems like they are, we’ll ask them to bring in a few pieces and talk about them. After that, we decide if we’ll feature them in the open house.”

Milliard added that, for some artists, they’ll do a “local referral type of thing,” where they allow another local artist to recommend somebody they know about.

Huber will discuss her work, and her paintings will remain on display for the month of January.

The gallery is at 171 Main St.
