DIXFIELD — Dorothy J. Beck, 92, of Dixfield, died Friday morning, Dec. 28, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1920, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., the daughter of Ralph Johnson. She attended St. Johnsbury schools, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy.

Dorothy was primarily a stay-at-home mom and loving homemaker, but she did work as an independent salesperson for Avon for many years.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and especially the company of her beloved cat, “Dolly.”

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Kathy Beck of Mexico and Vickie Ruel and her husband, Mike of Manchester, N.H.; grandchildren, Lori Morlock and her husband, Bob of N.J., Stephanie Beck and her husband, Ray of Lewiston, Monica Emmons and her husband, Ray of Lyman, Erica Castonguay and her husband, Scott of Litchfield, Keith Beck of Portland, Diane Michaud and her husband, Norman of Londonderry, N.H., Beth Pieberl and her husband, Walter of Manchester, N.H., Ben Monk and his wife, Lizz of Vt., Seargent Eric Wing and his wife, Rachel of Hinesville, Ga., Cory Wing and Jenn Lumpkins of Wilson, Mich. and Jessica Taylor and her husband, Jason of Canton; and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three children, Richard, Ralph and Roberta Beck.

Dorothy’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Rumford Community Hospital, Dr. Ledesma, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and her personal care assistants, Kelly, Tracy and Barbara.
