1941 -2012
FARMINGTON — Thomas Lee Pond, 71, of Farmington, passed peacefully, with family at his side, Thursday evening, Dec. 27, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.
He was born Feb. 6, 1941, in Farmington, a son of Harvey and Elva (Johndro) Pond. He was a 1960 graduate of Farmington High School and on June 30, 1962, married Gail Cook in Farmington.
For many years, he was employed at G.H. Bass and later Franklin Shoe as a toe laster. He loved the woods and cutting trees.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail of Farmington; two daughters, Teresa Iverson and her husband, Jed and Jill Savage and her husband, Eric, all of Farmington; a special nephew, who Tom considered to be his “son,” Harold “Wyn” Enman of Farmington; two sisters, Doris Drake and her husband, Maynard of Augusta and Nevada and Mildred Enman of Farmington; three grandchildren, Tiffany White, Cassie White and Shelby Iverson; three great-grandchildren, Mason Hersey, Morgan Hersey and Karsyn Tuttle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Linwood, Delmar and Sonny.
