Clean Christmas trees can be dropped off at the Lake Auburn Community Center at 115 North Auburn Road in Auburn. The trees will be recycled for trail mulch and will be used for a warming fire that will kick off the center’s grand opening during Auburn’s Winter Festival on Jan. 27 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., said Dan Bilodeau, a volunteer who has helped organize the community center. Cross-country skiing, snowshoe and snowmobile trails are also available for use at the center. The cities of Lewiston and Auburn are not doing curbside disposal for Christmas trees this year.
