RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Leo F. “Demps” Kersey Jr. was celebrated Friday at the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt as the celebrant. Bernard Poirier was the altar assistant and Mark Belanger was the organist. Musical selections were “Danny Boy,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Hosea” and “Amazing Grace.” Readings were presented by his godchild, Linda Jo Andrews and his granddaughter, Lori Fakler. Prayers of the faithful were presented by his daughter-in-law, Deanna Kersey. Presenting gifts to the altar were his three sons Leo III, Michael and Patrick Kersey. Words of remembrance were given by Steve Chaisson and Victor Unessa. Bagpipe music was provided at the church and reception by Piper Robert Underwood of Farmington which included “Highland Cathedral,” “Mist Covered Mountains,” “Going Home,” “My Home,” “Amazing Grace” and Ballmoral.” A reception was held at the Mexico Coop in Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader and Son Funeral Home.
