We all know a mom, dad, guardian, teacher and that special person with an intellectual disability.

Please share the following opportunity to gather together at Hope Association to discuss service options, issues, barriers, and milestones reached by so many capable individuals and their families.

The state continues to cut services for many. Young adults between the ages of 14- 21 need to have all services aligned to avoid falling through the cracks. We need to plan for the future.

The Disability Rights Center is Maine’s protection and advocacy agency for people with disabilities. It is a nonprofit agency independent of state and federal government.

DRC provides individuals with information about their rights and service systems, and represents individuals at meetings and hearings by providing legal services to individuals and groups. In addition, DRC works for systemic change and offers trainings on individual rights and developing advocacy skills. They also act as a referral service for individuals they are unable to directly assist.
