MANCHESTER, N.H. — Rosianne M. Houle, 91, of Manchester, passed away Jan. 9, at St. Theresa Manor after a long illness.

She was born in Victoriaville, Quebec, Aug. 3, 1921, the daughter of Alfred and Melinda (Babineau) Godin.

She came to the United States as a teenager and settled with her family in Lewiston. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1942. Rosianne married Rosario Houle and traveled extensively in support of her husband’s career. She has resided in Manchester, N.H., for the past 20 years.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper by Dugas Express Trucking and Auto Electric Auto Parts of Manchester.

Rosianne will be remembered as a sprightly, independent woman who was never afraid to say what was on her mind. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Peter Church in Auburn, N.H. She cherished her children, grandchildren as well as her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Cecchetti and her husband, Joseph, of Auburn, N.H.; five grandchildren, Melinda (Houle) Breen and her husband, Tom, of Beltsville, Md., Donald Houle Jr. and his wife, Kristin,

of Irvine, Calif., Jeanne Marie (Houle) Harrison and her husband, Mike, of Chesapeake Beach, Md., Matthew Cecchetti and his wife, Miranda, of Manchester and Kristen Cecchetti of Poway, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Houle of Chesapeake Beach, Md.

She was pre deceased by her husband, Rosario in 2001; and her son, Donald R. Houle in 2011.
