The Poland Paper Co.’s mill at Mechanic Falls is shut down this week for repairs. Several changes are being made and the carpenters and mechanics are busy. A new storehouse is being built near the coal sheds on the spur track. This will be about 70 by 80 feet. People here miss the whistle, as that too has suspended this week. It is not known just what day the mill will resume operations.

He said that, if elected, he would ask for enactment of a law with this in mind. In a statement, Michaud said, “Mr. Mayor, you have the gavel. You should see that these meetings are conducted in a respectful manner.”
