LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter will host a fair Tuesday aimed at helping area veterans find work.
Among the prospective employers will be Oxford Casino, VIP Auto, AmeriCorps, Lowe’s, CompuPay and First Light Home Care.
It’s a chance for businesses to tap an eager and talented workforce, said Jerry DeWitt, who works with veterans through Tri-County Mental Health Services.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon. The general public is also welcome.
The job fair grew out of discussions between the casino and the Maine Military and Community Network, DeWitt said. Besides Tuesday’s event, the casino will be working with the CareerCenters to offer two more fairs at later dates, he said.
Western Maine Transportation Services is providing some transportation to the Lewiston center for people from Norway and South Paris. The Lewiston CareerCenter is at 5 Mollison Way.
