PARIS — A Fryeburg man pleaded guilty Tuesday to breaking into a home in Porter and stealing guitars and jewelry.
Zachary E. Jackson, 24, pleaded guilty to burglary, two counts of theft and receiving stolen property in the April 13, 2012, incident. He was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay $7,057 in restitution.
According to Assistant District Attorney Joseph O’Connor, the homeowner caught a man and a woman, later identified as Jackson and Tiffany Loring, 24, of West Baldwin, leaving the house with jewelry. They were told to drop the items, but instead ran to a car and took off.
O’Connor said five vintage guitars were missing from the home. Weeks later, two of them turned up at a pawn shop in Portland. Jackson had pawned the guitars. Not all of the stolen items were recovered.
Loring is also charged with the Porter burglary and her case is pending in Oxford County, O’Connor said.
