Winter hike at Puzzle Mtn.

NEWRY — Puzzle Mountain is the first Mahoosuc Land Trust winter hike at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

The strenuous hike requires snowshoes and poles. Bring water and lunch. Meet at the Grafton Loop Trailhead, 4.5 miles north of the Bear River Trading Post, Route 26, in Newry.

Weary Club invites public

NORWAY — The Weary Club of Norway will host a coffee for club members and the general public from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at 385 Main St.

Members will give a brief history of the club and discuss membership in this unique and historical organization.

Anyone who is curious about the Weary Club, possesses political wisdom and has a Yankee philosophy is invited for coffee and treats.

Anita White is church speaker

PARIS — The First Universalist Church on Pine Street welcomes Anita White as guest speaker for Sunday, Jan. 20. The title of White’s 10 a.m. sermon is “A Slippery Fish.”

Music is under the direction of Donna Hurd and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee, fellowship and conversation will follow the worship service and all are welcome. Childcare is available and the First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible.

Hebron Hist. to meet Jan. 22

HEBRON — James Greene, director of operations of Goodwill Industries of New England, will speak to the Hebron Historical Society about its history and the assistance it provides to local residents. The program will be held at the town office at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 22. The public is invited.

All aspects of Goodwill’s operation to include donation procedures and the benefits of giving and purchasing recycled goods will be detailed and followed by a question and answer period.
