FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to take $34,957 from the Sheriff’s Department reserve fund to provide power to the new dispatch center that is under construction, Deputy Clerk Vickie Braley said Wednesday.
There is $48,871 in the account, she said.
The reserve account is in place to provide improvements to the Sheriff’s Department’s building, Clerk Julie Magoon said.
Commissioners decided that instead of draining the contingency fund for the project, it would be best to take it from the reserve fund, she said.
This was not included in the budget.
Plymouth Project engineer Keith Ewing had estimated Central Maine Power Co.’s cost to be $25,000.
Of the $34,957, $28,589 is for running a new power line, setting a new pole and a transformer and $6,368 was to get the power to the dispatch center, Magoon said.
Construction of the building is under way.
