LEWISTON — Alphonse L. Theberge, 77, of Lewiston passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was born in Rumford, Aug. 6, 1935, son of the late Michel and Anna Bard Theberge. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was married to Doris Doyon, Oct. 3, 1959.

Al was employed for 42 years at Enterprise Foundry prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and working around his camp. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family along with Gizmo and Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Lewiston; a daughter, Tina Ames and husband, Timothy, of Sabattus; two sons, Richard Theberge of Lewiston and Gary Theberge of New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Brian, Kassandra and Kelsey Ames; a great-grandson, Brayden; a sister, Gertrude Parkhurst and husband, John, of York; a brother, Normand Theberge and wife, Erika, of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Carol; three sisters, Dorothy Langevin, Jeanne Foley and Fernande Champagne; and three brothers, Lorenzo, John and Harold Theberge.
