AUBURN — City Manager Clinton Deschene will be the featured guest Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the United New Auburn Association meeting.

The meeting, scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at Rolly’s Diner in New Auburn, is open to all residents, according to City Councilor Leroy Walker.

“We just wanted to give residents a chance to come in and meet the new manager and get to know him a little bit,” Walker said.

Councilors hired Deschene as the city manager last spring and he began the job in June.

Before coming to the city of Auburn, Deschene was manager in Hermon.

Deschene graduated high school in 1991 in Presque Isle and graduated from University of Maine, Orono in 1995. He graduated with a law degree from Suffolk University in Boston in 1998 and began working for the town of Bradford in 1999. He began working in Hermon in 2002.

“Usually, we have this meeting to discuss what’s going on in New Auburn and what events we are planning,” Walker said. “But this will be a chance for people to meet the manager and get to know him a little bit.”
