1923 – 2013
JUPITER, Fla. — Carroll E. Taylor of Auburn, and Tequesta, Fla., passed away quietly at Hospice Pavilion in Jupiter, Fla. on Jan. 23, at the age of 89.
After graduating Edward Little High School, he went on to attend the University of Maine Civil Engineering Department. From there, Carroll went into United States Air Force, only to return to the University of Maine to graduate. He went to work with Richardson & Gordon Civil Engineering Consulting Firm, then he started his own firm as founder and owner of Carroll E. Taylor Consulting Engineering.
In 1957, he married Joan C. McGuckin, and they had 55 years together. He was president of the Auburn YMCA, a member of various golf clubs; Martindale Country Club, Falmouth Country Club and Jupiter Hills Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Taylor, of Montgomery County, Pa.; brother, Leon and Ruth Taylor; brother-in-law, William J. McGuckin; nephews, James R. Taylor, Robert E. Taylor, W.J. McGuckin, Jeffrey P. McGuckin; nieces, Catherine L. Sinclair and Catherine F. McGuckin.
