CANTON — Frances E. Plante, 78, a longtime resident of Main Street, Jay, died Saturday, Jan. 26, at Victorian Villa Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Columbus, Ga., the daughter of Homer and Bessie (Pierce) Patton.
She attended school in Columbus. On March 31, 1955, she married J. Bert Plante; he passed away Nov. 4, 2002. Frances worked as an LPN at Heritage Nursing Home in Winthrop, Victorian Villa in Canton and Pomeroy Hill Nursing Home in Livermore Falls. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Frances was a Cub Scout Den Mother when her children were younger.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel Plante and Kelly Plante and his wife, Tammy, of Jay; daughters, Linda Blais and her husband, Wayne, of Turner and Catherine Riddle of Florida; her sister, Betty Patton of Fortston, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Milam; and her brother, Jack Patton.
