RUMFORD — Miranda Smith’s outstanding third quarter rallied Mt. Abram to a 54-49 victory over Mountain Valley in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday. Smith netted 23 points and teammate Mikayla Luce contributed 17. For Mountain Valley Brooke Dolloff’s 17 points and Darbi Browns’ 14 were not quite enough to secure the win.

Rangeley 57, Pine Tree Academy 24

FREEPORT — After building a commanding 22-10 advantage in the first half, Rangeley continued at full throttle and raced away to post a 57-24 win over Pine Tree Academy in girls’ basketball action Tuesday. Tori Letarte led the Lakers (13-1) with 22 points and five steals, while Abby Abbott chipped in with 13 points, 14 rebounds and five steals. Blayke Morin also contributed with 13 points and 13 rebounds in a well-balanced attack.

Pine Tree was paced by Beckie McGuire with a solid 10-point effort.

Madison 63, Telstar 11

MADISON — After sprinting out to a seven-point lead in the first frame, Madison went on a 23-2 run in the second quarter and raced away to post a 63-11 win over Telstar on Tuesday evening.

Samantha Bruce led the Bulldogs (13-3) with 21 points, while Bronte Elias chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds. Cristie Vicneire also contributed with four points and five assists.

The struggling Rebels (0-15) were led by Alyssa Brands with five points.

Leavitt 61, Lincoln Academy 44

TURNER — Kristen Anderson recorded triple doubles Tuesday evening to lead Leavitt to a 61-44 victory over Lincoln in a KVAC girls’ basketball tilt. Anderson led the Hornets (12-2) with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Jenna Cote chipped in with 17 points, while Meagan Dow added 12 in a well-balanced attack.

Oxford Hills 43, Brunswick 31

BRUNSWICK — Oxford Hills used a 25-18 run in the third frame to pull away from Brunswick and went on to record a 43-31 victory in more local girls’ action Tuesday.

Tianna Sugars led the Vikings (10-5) with 12 points, the only player in double figures.

Hall-Dale 59, Lisbon 36

LISBON — Natasha Brown led the way for Hall-Dale with 18 points — including a pair of 3-pointers — to lead Hall-Dale to a 59-36 victory over Lisbon in MVC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

Nicole Pelletier chipped in with 10 points for the Bulldogs. Denise Thomas paced the Greyhounds (5-10) with 15 points.

Monmouth 42, Wiscasset 33

MONMOUTH — Kylie Kemp hit for 18 points on 9 field goals to lead Monmouth to a 42-33 victory over Wiscasset in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday. The Mustangs nine-point halftime lead of 27-18 was the final margin as both squads hit for 15 second-half points.

Sacopee Valley 31, Buckfield 30

BUCKFIELD — In a seesaw thriller, Sacopee Valley’s Abigail Hughes hit a foul shot in the last minute of play to clinch a one point-victory and giving the Hawks, a 31-30 victory over Buckfield in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday .

Bailey Mardens’ 10 points for the Hawks led all scorers, while Elizabeth Strout scored eight for the Bucks. Trailing 15-8 at the half, Buckfield rallied to take a 20-19 lead at the end of three, only to lose by one in the final minute.

Cony 58, Lewiston 52

LEWISTON — A stellar 21-point second quarter propelled Cony to a 34-28 halftime advantage and ended up providing Cony’s 58-52 victory over Lewiston in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday. Conys’ Josie Lee had one 3-pointer in her 20-point effort for Cony, while Emily and Haley Quirion each scored 12. Brie Wilsons’ 13 points and 10 from Kelsey Dumond led Lewiston’s offense.

St. Dom’s 51, Boothbay 36

BOOTHBAY — Morgan Crocker scored 12 points to lead Boothbay to a 51-36 victory over St. Dom’s on Tuesday evening.

Kelly Pomerleau’s four 3-pointers were not enough to overcome Boothbay’s even production.
