LIVERMORE FALLS — The Tri Town Seniors met on Jan. 28 at Murray Hall with 20 members and one guest, Marlene Newhall, present.
Fernande Doiron opened the meeting with the weekly ceremonies. George Doiron sang “Strangers in the Night” for the group. The group also sang “Happy Birthday” to Fern.
The secretary’s report was read and accepted as read. A thank-you note was received from Marilyn DeSoto for the gifts presented to her in recognition of her years of service to the group as treasurer. A thank-you note was also received from George and Fern for the flower arrangement sent in sympathy for the loss of their daughter-in-law.
The group was reminded of the Pizza Valentine party on Feb. 11. Fern will check on the variety needed.
In new business it was proposed and voted that the Chinese auction will be held on Feb. 18 instead of the 11th due to the party.
Fern mentioned that the Easter baskets that were won last year by Clemence Moreau and George Doiron must be returned full when the Easter meal is held in March. Due to Moreau’s passing one member must volunteer to fill that basket for this year. The members were asked to come up with ideas next week for the use of the donation from Moreau for the benefit of its members.
The 50/50 was won by Carmen Moreau. Door prizes donated by Theresa Bilodeau, Carole Redman, Janet Wright and Fernande Doiron were won by Doris Tripp, Margaret Slovak, Ellie Mitchell, Patty Couture and Marielle Labbe.
Following the meeting refreshments brought by Marilyn DeSoto, Donna Cook and Margaret Slovak were enjoyed.
Any area resident who is 55 or over is welcome to join. The group meets every Monday at 1 p.m. at Murray Hall.
