AUGUSTA — The “Concerts at Jewett” series, sponsored by the University of Maine at Augusta College of Arts and Sciences and UMA Senior College, will present
at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 at the University of Maine at Augusta, Jewett Auditorium (snow date Feb. 24). Their program “Love, Spring, and Other Things” will include works by Rossini, Gilbert and Sullivan, Folk tunes and Broadway songs.
Perkins received vocal training at Gordon College and Boston Conservatory. For several years she taught music in the public schools of Monmouth and at Hebron Academy. She continues to teach vocal and piano lessons in her Monmouth studio. She often performs as a soloist with the CODA Chorus and has appeared in solo and concert programs in the greater New England area.
Ferland is a singer/musician living in Biddeford. She has taught private voice and piano lessons for many years. She has served as a choral music director at First Christian Church of Kittery Point and assistant choral director at First Church Congregational in Boxford, MA. Ferland has starred as Zerbinetta in excerpts from “Ariadne auf Naxos” by R. Strauss, as Lucinde in “Le Medecin Malgre Lui” by Gounod, and sang with the Portland Opera Repertory Theatre. Currently she enjoys singing with the Trinity Episcopal Praise Team in Saco as well as performing at special events and concerts across the state.
