WALLINGFORD, Conn. — Richard N. Lajoie, 82, of Wallingford, departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Masonic Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Madeleine (Malo) Lajoie.
He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 20, 1930, son of the late Antoine and Jeanne Gauvin Lajoie. Until his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver for Mutrie Trucking and then Krevit Trucking Co.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a communicant of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford and was a member of Compass Lodge 9 AF & AM in Wallingford and the Major Raoul Lufbery VFW Post 591 in Wallingford.
He is survived by two sons, David A. Lajoie of Manchester and Daniel A. Lajoie and his wife, Holly, of Wallingford; two granddaughters, Danielle and Dempsey, both of Wallingford; and his special, longtime friend, Ella Distasio of Wallingford, whom the family thanks deeply for her loving care of Richard.
