BETHEL – The group To Your Health will host a workshop from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Bethel Congregational Church. Dr. Daniel van Buren will speak on how to properly diagnose and manage heart disease in women.
According to To Your Health Chairman Rosabelle Tifft, the workshop is part of a yearlong series focusing on “keeping the glass half-full and maximizing our health and happiness as we grow older.”
“We’ve already done two programs: one that focused on good sleep and another that focused on good balance,” Tifft said. “The next one focuses on keeping your heart healthy. There’s an event on March 21 that will focus on eating good, nutritious meals and another in April that will focus on keeping a healthy mind.”
Tifft said she was able to get van Buren to speak after she met him at a lecture at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, N.H.
“I found out that he actually lives in Bethel,” Tifft said. “I asked if he’d be interested in speaking to our community about heart disease in women, and he agreed.”
According to a press release from Tifft, van Buren is board certified in internal medicine, adult echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular disease.
Tifft said To Your Health is a community service so there is no charge. There will also be light refreshments.
