FARMINGTON — County Clerk Julie Magoon went over a timeline for the 2013-14 budget review Tuesday with commissioners.

The caucus for the Franklin County Budget Advisory Committee will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, March 4, at the county courthouse, she said.

Selectmen in each of the three commission districts will caucus to be elected to vacant positions.

Requests for budgets will go to department heads and will be due back on March 15, she said.

The plan is to have commissioners begin budget review on April 2 and April 3.

Usually, commissioners review program grants on one day and department budgets the next day, Magoon said.

The budget panel will also be involved in the budget process.

In another matter, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. told commissioners he plans to hold the first dispatch advisory committee meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Superior Court building.

County Emergency Management Director Tim Hardy and Nichols invited all agency chiefs in Franklin County to attend the initial meeting, Nichols said.

The first meeting will go over what the plans are, what the committee’s role would be and to see who is interested in being on the panel.

The maximum amount of members would be nine, he said.

Hardy, a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services representative, and Nichols will be on the committee, Nichols said.
