BETHEL — The hallways and gym of Telstar Regional High School will soon be sparkling with Harry Potter and his friends, enemies and magical tricks as students prepare for the annual semiformal Winter Carnival Dance set for Feb. 16.

But first, students take part in a week of activities, beginning with a pep rally in the gym from 1:45 to 2:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8.

Spirit Week, Feb. 11-15, will feature students dressing according to themes each day. On Feb. 12 and 14, classes will participate in floor hockey and other games.

On Friday, Feb. 15, from 1 to 2:20 p.m., students will show their musical, dance and other skills during the annual talent show. Parents and other relatives usually attend the talent show, school secretary Wendy Hanscom said.
